That guy who asked that question

By now we all know who Joe the Plumber is.  Just in case you don’t know, Joseph Wurlzebacher is some guy from Ohio who asked Barrack Obama a simple question.  Let me repeat, he is just some guy who asked a presidential candidate a simple question.

The media quickly came to Obama’s aid and got to work trying to tear down and discredit this guy who asked a simple question.  They got to the bottom of things faster than they flew to Alaska and now we “learn” that 1) Joe the Plumber does not have a plumbing license 2) he owes back taxes 3) Obama’s plan would actually cut the “real” Joseph Wurzlebacher’s taxes and 4) Joe isn’t even a registered voter. Read more here.

Yet, there is still one BIG question left unanswered: who cares? Really.  What if we find out next his name isn’t even Joe, its Samuel and he’s not actually a plumber at all.  Does any of that really matter? No.  To answer the above accusations gives them legitimacy. To entertain this witch hunt takes the eye off the prize…the golden ticket so to speak, which is Barrack Obama admitting his Marxist agenda.

I sat in my car today and listened to Laura Ingraham go on and on, it must have been 10 minutes, actually defending Joe the Plumber.  She had his stats down cold: Joe did vote in the primaries, he didn’t need a license to operate in his home town, heck she even offered to have him do work for her in D.C.

Michelle Malkin’s post today gave the attacks more credence doing an entire piece on JTPDS or Joe the Plumber Derangement Syndrome. (For the record MM is AWESOME!!! and Ingraham isn’t that bad either).

The Obamedia had won. They had successfully shifted the focus from the gaffe of Barrack Obama coming clean about his socialistic ideals (if you can call being truthful a gaffe) to defending the honor of Joe the Plumber.  And as we have learned throughout this campaign, if you are on the defensive you are losing.

The media’s attempt to minimize and in fact belittle a hard working individual is worthy of investigation. When these attacks are pointed towards an average everyday citizen because they asked a presidential candidate a simple question there is an even greater cause for concern. But to the length that the Obamedia has gone to paint Joe the Plumber as some fraud the right has gone just as far out of their way to paint Joe the Plumber as the new face of everyday America.  He is now the people’s hero.  Joe Wurlzebacher is having his 15 minutes of fame.  Unfortunately the spotlight is too focused on him and Barrack Obama and his communist manifesto have comfortably escaped into the shadows.
